Am I ready for this new chapter of my life? our family life? this question I can't answer until this moment I write this post.
All I know is that the decision I made is for my children, Rakhel, Raia and Ratisha. They need their Mom's guidance, support, presence at home.
Yes.....starting 1st of April 2014, I become a Full Time Mom (FTM) (again :). When the project I worked at ended, It was difficult to decide whether I will continue by applying to the new project or just ended my contract and became a FTM again hehehe
It's been 2 years wonderful and fun time to be back with daily routine from 9 AM to 5 PM Working Mom but I think that my family need their mom at home. Not just because we don't have nanny who can look after my children while I am at the office but I have 3 wonderful children who need more attention from us their parents. They are getting bigger and require more activities on their daily routine. Beside that they need more attention from us.
Rakhel, 11 years old
Around December 2013 after received the final exam report, her teacher informed me that her grade in some subjects are below from required grade. It made me so sad. I do realize that the subjects are getting difficult and thats why I never pushed my children to study hard and gain good grade. I just want they have fun at school. But unfortunately we are still in Indonesia which every school has standard for the minimum grade for every subject (too bad) well I don't want to discuss about that in my posting. Beside that She is not yet a woman but not a baby girl anymore. I have a teenager who already know first love, I will make sure that I always be there whenever she needs me to talk about anything or anyone ;)
Raia, 6 years old
My charming boy....Raia is very unique. He is left handed which is very rare in Indonesia a left handed person. We thought that being left handed is normal just like other kids but unfortunately that is not what we are facing. The first hit I received on December 2013 when Raia's teacher called me and asked me to come to meet her. She said that Raia still can not read and write as good as his friends. He is way behind. She said that Raia need more extra lessons or practice. At first I didn't worry at all when the teacher told me about that. As suggested I put him to join GAFA, writing and reading course nearby. I really confidence that Raia can catch up his ability on reading and writing (with left hand off course). But the second hit I received when Raia didn't pass the test for joining the favorite elementary school. At first I was really sad, I cried every time I remember it. But enough is enough I know that my boy is very special and unique. He is smart in his own way. Maybe he is not so good in writing and reading but I know he is such a clever boy. He is very active, He can speak English even though we never teach him. He can speak English only by watching Disney Channel or Cartoon Network.
After browsing and searching Elementary Islamic Full Day school, with the help of
Mom Renny, Raia is accepted to join SDIT Darul Maarif. I hope Raia can spread his wings wide open in this school.
And finally we realize that Raia is a right-brained child. One of the characteristics is left handed ;) No wonder that his capability in reading and writing is way behind because based on reference that we read from some sources via google, Right brains don't like to listen to directions and don't like to read
them. They scan quickly and figure out what to do without reading
details. Rights think and learn in visual, kinesthetic and audio images. They
don't memorize well and need to visualize a picture so they can recall
the facts. Abstract math is often not brain compatible. Their thoughts
are frequently in code and they may have bizarre images in night dreams
leaving them confused as to what they mean.
After knowing that Raia is right-handed child, we try our best to find the best activities for him. For school, I believe and hope that SDIT Darul Maarif can accept Raia with his condition. I choose Darul Maarif because I know that in 1 class there will be only 15 students with 2 teachers until 6th grade. I hope the teacher can guide raia closely :).
And our task as his parents to find what is his interest and finally we find out that he is good in soccer and after joined a free trial, Raia joins
Brazilian Soccer School Jakarta.
Last week when he joined the trial we could see from his eyes that he was so exciting and he was soooo good and could follow the instruction given. not bad for someone who was for the first time joining a real soccer club/school. So here is the journey begin for you my baby boy...Hope you enjoy and can find your happiness by playing soccer
Ratisha, 3 years old
My baby girl who can always make me smile with her smart and funny attitude. After suffering Kawasaki Disease when she was 6 months old. She still need more attention and regularly check up to a
cardiologist pediatrician for EKG (Electrocardiography) just to make sure that her heart is normal. The Kawasaki Disease attacked her heart at that time. So I really have to make sure that we didn't miss to any doctor's schedule ;)
I know that I have to sacrifice my carrier life (9to5 job). Some said that working at the office is also for the children to fulfill the needs for better education (expensive school) , cozy life (vacation, expensive toys), good food. But to be present at home, to be on their side every time they need are priceless. I can even see from My children's eyes that they are so happy that their mom stays at home.
Kaka Rakhel love my fried cheese corned beef bread. And she asks every morning for her breakfast.
Abang Raia now always runs and cuddles to me after school.
Baby Ratisha is getting smarter and sometimes come out from her mouth some thought unexpected from 3 yo baby girl.
Well this is my life my choice. Thank you for my Half, My lovely husband who always support me all the time, let me fly anytime and anywhere. Hopefully Allah SWT always bless us and our family. Amin....Amin...Allahuma Amiin.....
